NW CT Chapter of Trout Unlimited Minutes of Meeting October 6, 2015
The October meeting was called to order at 7:35 PM downstairs at the Torrington Elks Club by President Jim Fedorich. There were ten attendees.
The Secretary’s Report for September was given by Secretary Bob Hart and was accepted as read.
The Treasurer’s Report was given by Treasurer Bill Richie. There is $3701.48 in our treasury with $150 slated for TIC. The treasurer’s report was accepted as read.
Jim mentioned the Earth Day Cleanup was held on September 19th. Salerno’s Deli provided lunch for the attendees and our chapter provided the gloves, garbage bags and water. The cleanup was a success with the better part of a 20 cubic yard dumpster filled up.
Jim mentioned our club was holding a fishing event on Saturday, October 10th at the Housatonic Meadows Park starting at 10:30 AM. We will provide lunch for attendees at 1:00 PM. Come out to enjoy some good fishing and company.
Jim and Bill Richie need to prepare and send off a financial report for TU National before the end of October.
Bob Hart presented a draft of an operating budget for the 2015-2016 year. There were some minor changes suggested from the floor that will be incorporated into the final budget.
We held a quick fly swap tonight.
The program for the evening was a presentation on the “Introduction to Tube Flies - - How to tie them and how to fish them” given by Ben Bilello. This was an interesting talk on a different style of fly, with Ben giving us a lot of insights, as well as showing plenty of examples of tube flies he had tied.
The meeting adjourned at 8:55 PM.
Our November meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd , 2015 at 7:30 PM at the Torrington Elks Club. Among other things, we need to hold the election of Officers for 2015-2016 which we did not get to in October.
