Minutes of Meeting

October 9, 2012

 

The October meeting was called to order by President Jim Fedorich at 7:30 PM at the Torrington Elks Club.  Nine people were in attendance. 

 

Jim Fedorich reported that the upper Farmington River will be stocked 10/3/12 and over 9000 fish were just put in to the Housatonic river.

 

The Treasurer’s Report was read by Jim Fedorich. There is currently $2320.29 in our checkbook,  The treasurer’s report was accepted as read.

 

Previous Meeting minutes were read by Jim Fedorich and accepted as read.

 

Letter From Farmington Valley Trout Unlimited was read, FVTU wanted to know if we would like to share the Peoples Forest pavilion in September 2013.

 

Slate of officers was voted on and accepted unanimously;

NWCTU will have a table at the Farmington Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited tag sale in Unionville CT November 7th 6-9pm

 

There will be a bypass built on the Naugatuck river above Kinney dam that will allow fish from long Island sound, Stripers and Alewives, to make it all the way up to Thomaston Dam.

 

Ed P. from DEEP was our speaker who updated members on current stocking programs and current Lake Restoration programs in Northwest Connecticut.

 

Tracey Brown, North East Regional Director, will be our speaker for the November Meeting to talk about the grant from TU national for improvements on the upper housitonic; Salmon kill river in Falls Village/Caanan area.
