NW CT Chapter of Trout Unlimited Minutes of Meeting November 1, 2016
The November meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM at the Torrington Elks Club by President Jim Fedorich. There were fourteen attendees.
The Secretary’s Report for October was read by Bob Hart and was accepted as read.
The Treasurer’s Report was given by Treasurer Bill Richie. There is $1800.69 in our treasury with $150 slated for TIC. The treasurer’s report was accepted as read.
Dick Heffernon requested the Club donate $170 to supply eggs to the various schools for the TIC program. A motion was made and accepted to donate the $170.
Jim reminded the group that our December gathering will be our annual Christmas Party downstairs at the Elks on Tuesday, December 6th. There will be light snacks and soda provided and a cash bar. This event is open to members and friends.
Our Annual Banquet will be held on Saturday, February 4th, 2017 at the Torrington Elks Club. Jim mentioned we have given the Elks a $250 deposit for the night.
Dave Cooper donated 14 leather bound books to the Club. Bob Hart sent an acknowledgement letter to Dave thanking him.
Jim moved on to the election of officers for 2016-2017. There were no additional nominations so the nominations were closed. A motion was made and passed to have the Secretary cast a single vote for the nominated slate. The Officers and Chairs for 2016-2017 are:

Congratulations to the new officers and many thanks to last year’s officers for the work they did!
Jim Fedorich and Bill Richie filed a financial report to TU National.
Bob Hart reviewed a draft of the 2016-2017 Operating Budget for the Club. A minor change was made to the TIC expenses for the year and the membership approved the budget.
Dick Heffernon gave us an update on the State Council Meeting: · Election of Officers was held · DEEP lost 78 positions due to cost cutting · There are less fish to stock due to the low water levels · Critical Habitat Project – a project to preserve wild trout habitat from development
Pat Peet reminded the membership the Catskill Fly Fishing Show was being held November 5th & 6th.
The program for the evening was a DVD on “Mayflies – Fly Fishing Guide to Imitating Aquatic Insects”.
The meeting adjourned at 8:25 PM.
Our next meeting is our Christmas Party scheduled for Tuesday, December 6th, 2016 downstairs at the Torrington Elks Club at 7:30 PM.
