NW CT Chapter of Trout Unlimited

Minutes of Meeting

June 7, 2016

The June meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM at the Torrington Elks Club by Vice President Evan Williams.  There were eight attendees.

The Secretary’s Report for May was read by Scott Richie and was accepted as read.

The Treasurer’s Report was given by Treasurer Bill Richie.  There is $2922.59 in our treasury with $150 slated for TIC.  The treasurer’s report was accepted as read.

Evan Williams reported Jim Fedorich was supposed to be going home today from the nursing home he has been in for several weeks due to illness.

Ron Leoni reported on the fishing outing at the Blackberry River that was held on May 27th.  There were nine attendees and several fish were caught followed by a pleasant evening of pizza, wine and good company.

The annual cleanup of the Naugatuck River was held on June 4th.  There were approximately 20 volunteers who gathered several cubic yards of trash.  This was followed by a cookout for the volunteers by our Club.  The good news is the river was much cleaner to start with so maybe people are starting to respect the river and not dump trash in it as they used to in the past.

A fishing outing at the “Legends” on the Farmington in Barkhamstead will be held on July 27th.  Evan will get more details from Jim and provide them to us.

Ron Leoni is to look at another date later this season for another fishing outing, either on the Housatonic River or the Farmington River.  He will get back to the Club with further details.

Bill Richie reported the Club donated $200 to Housatonic River Outfitters to help with the Spring rainbow stocking.

Evan asked the members if there was any interest in organizing a fishing trip to Pulaski this fall.  Anyone interested can contact Evan.

The program for the evening was a viewing of a DVD video titled “Stripped Down – the Brown Trout Project”.

The meeting adjourned at 8:20 PM.

This was our last meeting of the season.  We will resume meeting next September, so watch the website and our mailings for details.  Until then, have a great summer and “Tight Lines to All”!!

Respectfully submitted,

Bob Hart
