NW CT Chapter of Trout Unlimited Minutes of Meeting June 5, 2012
The June meeting was called to order by President Jim Fedorich at 7:30 PM at the Torrington Elks Club. Five people were in attendance.
The Secretary’s Report for May was read by Secretary Bob Hart and was accepted as read.
The Treasurer’s Report was read by Jim Fedorich. There is currently $3178.46 in our checkbook, of which $250 is tagged for the TIC program. The treasurer’s report was accepted as read.
Jim read a thank you from Casting for Recovery for the $150 our Club donated to them.
Jim reported our Club purchased 50 blight resistant North American Elm trees at $3.00 each. The trees will be distributed to various area clubs to help restore this important species since the Army Corps of Engineers is still working on the Naugatuck River banks and will not allow plantings this year. The Northwest Sports Council will be reimbursing our Club for the cost of the trees.
The Naugatuck River cleanup held on Saturday, June 2nd and The Women Gone Wild Day held on Sunday, June 3rd were both a success. Our Club volunteered at both events.
The Annual Duck Day is coming up soon. Unfortunately, the exact date was not available at the time of printing these minutes.
